Emmis Feels the Vibe
April 18, 2006
Vibes Media has signed as a mobile marketing partner for Emmis Communications. Emmis plans to leverage Vibes’ interactive text-messaging capabilities with its radio stations.
Under the terms of the deal, Emmis plans to use Vibes’ iRadio Instant Response Text Messaging Platform to facilitate radio promotions. Emmis recently used the platform at its Q101 station in Chicago to allow listeners to text in a short code to win tickets to see Pearl Jam. The station, according to Emmis, received 123,000 messages in 10 days.
The platform, along with Vibes’ OptimumAnalysis Tools, enables radio stations to design customized promotions and contests, according to Vibes Media. The platform also is designed to respond to every text message sent, regardless of the sender’s service provider.
Vibes is also working on programs with other radio broadcasters, including ClearChannel, Citadel and CBS Radio, the company says.
Last year, Vibes announced the commercial availability of TextTV, a text messaging platform that enables television viewers to interact with each other by sending text messages directly to the TV screen.
