It's interesting that neither the call-to-action or the confirmation MT follows the CTIA rules.

That's not a QR code. It's a Data Matrix. Not intended for consumer use.

Jeff,
I wanted to see that show! The Hypocrites never disappoint. The actors played instruments too, right? I noticed that Victory Gardens used tweets mixed with professional reviews on promotional materials. When I raved about The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity one of my tweets was included in a promotional email. Such a great way to capitalize on/encourage word of mouth!

Funny timing, I just saw Pirates of Penzance at Chopin Theatre this weekend and happened to check-in via Foursquare. The next day I received a follow-up tweet from @thehypocrites thanking me and my wife for attending the show. From a marketer's perspective, I thought it was great to see that a theatre company was active and engaging like that. From a consumer's perspective, it was effective at building a deeper relationship with me.

Ioana —great post!

I couldn't agree with you more.
There certainly is a time when you just need to cut the texting and pick up the phone; especially when you are talking to someone you just met! There have been countless times my sarcasm or humor got misread through a text, whereas if it were through voice there would have been no miscommunication.
